O BTO PC VISION GG1 #4908
The G’s and stainless steel equipment were still rolling on the
Congressional and Senator into the late 1960s, though by now they had
started to lose some of their fancy striping and luster. The Penn Central
years had a character of their own with a mix/match of paint schemes and
often substitute cars to make use of what ever was serviceable that day.
The GG1s traded pin stripes for “worms” in the new PC logo. But a few did
get a little spark of color with the red/white PC. Few would say the trains
never looked better, but they were anything but boring.
