O SF 4-8-4 Northern #3759 Steam Loco/LCS
Two famous survivors of the steam era, the Santa Fe #3751
and sister #3759, join the Lionel roster in 2011! First built
in 1927, the 4-8-4 Northern type hauled the signature
passenger trains of the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe
Railway. After a distinguished 26 years of service and later
decades as a dormant park display, Santa Fe #3751 was
brought back to life by the San Bernardino Railroad
Historical Society. The big Northern has made a number of
excursion trips since 1991.
Built in 1928, Santa Fe #3759 was retired in 1953. Only a
couple of years later, she was called on to haul a tourist
train, taking to the rails once again. By 1957, she found a
permanent home on display in Kingman, Arizona.
