Description
The amphibious favorite of the U.S.A.F.
Introduced in 1949, the amphibious SA-16 Albatross was first used by the U.S.A.F. Air Rescue Service in Korea to rescue stranded pilots. Other uses for the SA-16 ranged from anti-submarine missions to escort and surveillance missions. The U.S. Navy and the U.S. Coast Guards also used the aircraft for conducting search-and-rescue missions throughout the 1960s and 1970s. Kit features retractable landing gear, three crewmen figures, a life raft with two survivors and two marking options: 1. U.S.A.F. SA-16B, 354th Tactical Fighter Wing and 2. U.S.A.F. SA-16B, Military Air Transport Services.
