A new Beetle for a new generation

The original Beetle was designed to be affordable for Germans to drive
on the then new Autobahn. For generations these cars plied the roads of
countries all over the world, but eventually even the best designs need
to be revised. In 1994 the Beetle was redesigned as the New Beetle and
the cars hit the streets starting in 1998. Although the car is
completely different than the original, much of the “soul” is retained,
producing a vehicle that is stylish, powerful and efficient. This
