Description
In its first year, Carroll Shelby built between 500 and 600 GT350^® model Mustangs that received post-factory modifications at Shelby’s makeshift Los Angeles plant. However, 36 were set aside to become competition models, the GT350R^®. Weight-the racer’s enemy-was the main target and the ‘R’ model came in weighing nearly 500 pounds less then its street counterpart through the removal of many items including radio, heater/defroster, insulation, even the hood latch, making those hood pins functional instead of decorative. Most notable was the removal of both factory bumpers, the front being replaced with a fiberglass apron with built-in cooling ducts.

Mustang body accurately molded in white polystyrene plastic. “R” model front apron with built-in cooling ducts. Highly detailed, high performance 289 Ford Cobra engine. Complete interior detail inlcuding roll bar. Wheels roll even after assembly. Vinyl tires, with realistic tread design, wrap around a set of magnesium-style wheels. Detailed chassis, suspension and exhaust system. Quality Cartograph waterslide decals. Illustrated assembly guide. Requires paint and glue (not included).
