O Milw.Rd. Rib-side Boxcar (LRD) #8518
One of the most distinctive of the Milwaukee Road’s boxcars, these “rib
side” cars stood out in freight trains all across the country with their distinctive
horizontal stiffeners. Paint schemes here represent their use from 1939 to the late
1960s when some were converted with new load restraining devices or roof
hatches. Milwaukee Road fans will want them all, but no matter what railroad you
favor, you’ll want at least one to add some style to your boxcar fleet!
