O BTO Mountain NH LEGACY #3324
Although the USRA Light Mountain wasn’t among the most popular of initial
designs, similar locomotives eventually found homes on railroads all across
North America. The 4-8-2 was a dual-service locomotive on many railroads
and could be found on both freight and passenger trains. The longer
wheelbase also provided greater weight distribution on lighter rail. This
was a strong selling point of these lighter models.
Lionel is proud to bring this locomotive back in several returning and new
roadnames with some new tender and detail variations to better capture
the look of their prototypes. For the first time, this locomotive will also
be available with 4 digit addressing. From the frigid rails of Alaska, to the
Seaboard’s humid coast, hauling New England freight or the “Sunshine
Special,” these versatile and colorful locomotives are sure to find a role on
your railroad.
